CRANDALL ISD VIRTUAL ACADEMY

VIRTUAL ACADEMY OPENING AUGUST 2026
Crandall ISD is proud to introduce the Crandall ISD Virtual Academy, set to open in August 2026 for incoming high school juniors and seniors. This initiative highlights the district’s dedication to broadening educational pathways while maintaining the high standards our community values.

A laptop with a graduation cap symbolizes virtual learning.

The Virtual Academy will be available to juniors and seniors for the upcoming year, with plans to expand the program in the following years.

The Virtual Academy offers students the flexibility to complete their coursework online instead of attending traditional in-person classes. Designed for modern learners, the program provides the flexibility to manage school alongside personal interests, jobs, and other responsibilities—while still ensuring strong academic expectations and support.

In partnership with Forney ISD and other neighboring Kaufman County school districts, the Virtual Academy will provide a diverse selection of courses, including English, history, science, government, economics, and various electives. This collaboration helps ensure a well-rounded and comprehensive curriculum is being offered.

Informational sessions will be held in April for parents and students. Attendance at one of the meetings will be a requirement to apply to the Virtual Program.

On April 17th, the application link will be sent to families whose students and parents attended an information session.  The applications must be submitted by April 24th, and students will be notified of acceptance into the program by May 8.

Please be aware that enrollment is limited, so early application is encouraged.

For additional details—such as FAQs, course listings, and information session dates—please see below.

We are excited to offer expanded opportunities for our students and look forward to helping them thrive through the Crandall ISD Virtual Academy.

Mandatory Information Session
