Charge Policy

Meal Charges
Students may charge up to $25 for meals. Once a student’s unpaid meal balance reaches $25, the student will receive an alternate entrée in place of the regular reimbursable meal. The alternate meal will be charged at $1.

À La Carte Purchases
Students with a negative meal balance may not purchase à la carte items, including chips, snacks and bottled drinks, until the negative balance has been resolved. This applies even if the student has cash available for the purchase.

Balances Greater Than $25
When a student has an outstanding meal debt greater than $25, the district may restrict participation in certain optional extracurricular or school-sponsored, non-instructional activities. Examples may include school dances, prom and other optional activities, as well as the purchase of student parking passes.

Any restrictions will be applied consistently and will remain in place until the balance is paid in full or an approved repayment plan has been established.

Educational Opportunities Will Not Be Restricted
Students will not be denied access to educational opportunities because of an unpaid meal balance. Educational field trips and other activities that are part of the instructional program or provide an educational experience will not be restricted.

Families are encouraged to monitor their student’s meal account regularly and address negative balances as soon as possible.
